Description

The Head of Commercial manages the Trading Department, achieves sales targets, gross margin targets and other income targets. Main Functions 1. Monitors the performance of subordinate category managers. 2. Determines the breadth and width of product offerings, in conjunction with the Retail operations, Marketing and Store Manager, based on the needs of target customers and competitors’ offerings. 3. Creates the most effective local and foreign supply chain possible for all stores and secure contracts with suppliers, defining attractive discounts and terms payment. 4. Sets competitive prices for all key value items while maintaining gross profit targets. 5. Sets and maintains merchandising standards and communicate accordingly to store departments through the use of planograms. 6. Ensures Category Managers perform in accordance set trading strategies and achieve sales and profit targets. 7. Negotiates and plans yearly promotional activities with suppliers, in coordination with the marketing departments, to ensure an unbeatable advantage of competitors. 8. Promotes private labels which are exclusive to the company and ensures these will add value to target customers and enhance profitability. 9. Keeps up-to-date with competitors’ short and long term strategies and prices. Adjusts brands’ strategies accordingly. 10. Responsible for store layouts to achieve maximum profitability per square meter. 11. Keeps up-to-date with new governmental laws and regulations which affect the business. Requirements - Minimum 5 years experience as Commercial Manager in hypermarket/supermarket retail operations. - Excellent negotiation skills - Team Leader - Preferred Nationalities: Algerian – Jordanian – Moroccan – Syrian – Tunisian – Turkish - Lebanese Commercial Head / Director required for this leading food retail business. Package circa $6000 to $7500
